Getting Used to the Pool

Saturday evening we took Lydia up to the YMCA to get used to the water.  She is having a pool party in a month so I think it's vital that she like the water.  They have a zero entry pool for the kiddos, which was helpful.  I put her down in about 1/4 inch of water and she immediately started crying.  So Daddy took her back to the very edge of the pool where there wasn't any water and we just let her sit there and play with her toys.  After a couple minutes Kevin moved her a little further into the pool (still only about 1/4 inches or less of water).  And we just kept doing that until she had water up to about mid stomach.  She did great.  It went much better than I thought it would.  We are just going to have to keep taking her up to the pool a couple times a week before her birthday party.  She can't be the only baby at her party not in the water.

Anytime Kevin brings the guitar out Lydia is right there by his side.  She loves to play the guitar.

 Isn't she adorable!?

Also, anytime Kevin is on his computer, Lydia is right there to see what's going on.  So I got my old laptop out from my old college days.  She had a lot of e-mails to respond to and had to update her facebook.  :)

It has been 1 week since we replaced one of Lydia's formula feedings with whole milk.  She is doing really good with it.  It took her a couple days to get used to the milk, but she likes it now.  Today I am going to replace another afternoon feeding with milk.
On another note, Lydia likes to dance.  Anytime she hears music, whether it's her toys or the radio, she starts bouncing up and down.  It's so cute.  She's also started to shake her head no.  She doesn't know what she's shaking it for, she just turns it side to side over and over again.  And she will give you the most slobbery kiss ever.  If I'm laying on the floor with her she will open her mouth really big and come right at me.  Sometimes I have to dodge it because at the last second she'll stick her tongue out.
We have exactly two months till we move out of this house and onto our next chapter in Oklahoma.  We are both really looking forward to it.  It just means Kevin is that much closer to graduating.
