Weekend Getaway

This weekend Kevin and I went to Ft. Worth.  We dropped Lydia off with Mimi and Pawpaw and we were outa there.  We went to a lot of places that we've never been before.  When we got there we first went to an art museum and looked at paintings.  I originally thought that just snobby people and extremely artsy people did that, but it was actually pretty neat.  After that we went to the Botanical Gardens.  I enjoyed that a lot.  You only pay $1 per person to get into the "rain forest" area.  There were sooo many neat plants and trees in there that I've never seen before.  After that we went to the Ft. Worth Stockyards and did a little shopping.  Then we went and ate at PF Chang's for dinner and then just walked around downtown.  Saturday morning we went and checked out "Pottery in the Park".  If I would have had the money to spend on some of that pottery I would have!  Kevin and I got inspired to take pottery classes sometime.  Then it was back to the Stockyards cause we didn't get to see everything Friday.  And lastly, it was homeward bound to see our baby girl!!!  We missed her tremendously!

Here's Lydia the other day playing with Nana's purse.  Nana came for a visit to see her favorite grandchild, and maybe me (but I doubt it).

Here's Kevin and I outside the art museum.

Botanical Gardens in the rain forest.

 My awesome model pose!!
I know you've probably all seen a squirrel before, but this one was apparently so used to people that he didn't want to move.
We went to our first jazz club too!  It was down this little alley and when we got to the door it was actually an elevator.  Kevin and I just looked at each other and asked "should we go in"?  It was like something you see in a movie.  It almost looked like if you stepped onto the elevator you were never going to come back out.  It was a little creepy, but we went anyway.  :)  I'm glad we did cause it was a  really good band and singer.
