Missing the Texas Weather

It's March 28th, it's officially spring and it snowed last night.  That's uncalled for.  Granted it's already melted and the sun is shining, but it's still cold outside.  I can't wait for 70 degree weather again.  Our trip to Texas spoiled me.  I have so many cute outfits I could put Lydia in, but I can't because it's too cold.  Less than 6 weeks now and we'll be back to Texas for a short little visit.
Lydia is SO close to crawling.  It really should happen any day now.  When she's on all fours she moves her arms forward, but hasn't figured out if she moves her legs forward too she could boot scoot all over the house.  Speaking of boots....

Here's the star of the show wearing Mommy's cowgirl boots.

So close!!

Her new dolphin scooter thingy.

She looks so big in this picture.

Summary of Texas

One of Lydia's new outfits.

Out at Mrs. Lee's Gardens in Gladewater.  I love the expression on her face.

First time in a swing.  And she chose to share this special moment with Noah.

Ready for Daddy to come home!!

The whole family together at the zoo.

Glad to be back in her own bed.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures!  We had a good time in Texas, but it is nice to be "home" and not living out of a suitcase anymore.  When we got home at 3am Wednesday morning Lydia looked around the house to see where she was.  Then I took her in her room and she immediately smiled.  She new exactly where she was.  I put her straight to bed and she went right to sleep.
In the last three weeks Lydia has learned how to wave, push up on her hands and knees and rock, she's a pro at going backwards, she scoots herself across the floor, reaches for people now, and last but not least...she is getting her two front teeth in.  Babies grow and learn new things so fast.

Busy Week

Lydia is feeling much better.  She still has a slight cough and a little congestion but other than that, she's good to go.  She got to visit some more with Aunt Whitney this weekend.  And Aunt Whitney bought her another outfit while we took a facinating trip to the Gilmer WalMart.  I really should have had my phone out, I could have contributed atleast 6 good pictures to the People of Walmart webpage.
Tomorrow night I'm going to Tyler to have dinner with some old friends while my mom watches Lydia.  It'll be nice to get out of the house for a while.  Then Wednesday I'm going to go to Mineola with my mom and grandmother to get some cross stitching supplies.  I know you're jelous.  Thursday Mrs. Colette is coming to Gilmer to pick me and Lydia up and bring us to Tyler for some fun baby play dates.  Then later on that day my mother-in-law is going to pick us up and take us to her house to stay.  Then last, but definitely not least, Kevin is coming to Tyler on Friday.  YAY!!

Sick Baby

My poor baby girl is sick.  Yesterday she had a fever that got up to almost 103.  So needless to say, we didn't quite make it to Tyler yesterday.  But today her fever is gone, thank goodness.  She is still sneezing every 30 seconds, coughing, has a runny red nose and has red watery eyes.  Poor thing.  I wish I could take on her sickness for her.  Sometimes she just looks so miserable, but she's still smiling.  And of course, she's still cute.  I just hope I don't get sick, or any other family members that have been around her.
On a brighter note, Kevin is feeling better and will be heading this way one week from today.  :)  I know he misses his baby girl tremendously, and maybe me too.

Visiting

So far this week has been full of visiting family.  It hasn't been too crazy though.  Lydia is still getting good naps and is sleeping fantastic at night.  My poor husband is back home in Missouri (or as we like to call it, misery) sick.  He said he feels the worst he's ever felt before in his life.  And I'm not there to take care of him.  I feel horrible.  But at the same time me or baby girl aren't there to get infected.
Tomorrow we are headed to Tyler to see all the peeps.  Mainly just Colette and little Noah and Ashley and very little Lauren.  It'll be fun.
I'm so glad Lydia doesn't have stranger anxiety.  It makes it so easy on me.  I can't imagine having a baby who only wants you.  I guess it would be cute, but it would also be exhausting.
My mom has taught me to cross stitch.  I made my first stitchy thingy (not sure what you would call it).  I cross stitched a hippo.  It's really cute.  I plan on doing more.

We Made It!

Well we have now been in Texas for 2 days. The drive down wasn't bad. When we got into town we put Lydia down in her pack and play and she went right to sleep, it was nice. Last night on the other hand was not nice. She got really scared and screamed herself to sleep. It was hard to listen to, but there wasn't much I could do about it. It only took her about 10 minutes of screaming till she passed out.
Today me, my mom and sister (and of course Lydia) went to Canton and shopped till our little hearts were content. Lydia racked up on the cute stuff. She got 3 new outfits, an adorable sock monkey and a very cute pair of shoes. All courtesy of her wonderful Aunt Whitney. She loves her new sock monkey who got dubbed the name Gordon. The weather was a little chilly but it wasn't bad.
Kevin goes back to MO tomorrow and he will be missed. I know he looks forward to his trip back to Texas. Maybe not the drive, but definitely seeing his baby girl.

Blessed Beyond Measure

Only two more days till we're on the road to Tejas.  It's going to be a bitter sweet trip only because while Lydia and I are in Texas having fun with family and friends, poor daddy is back in MO all by his lonesome.  It's going to be torture for him to be away from his baby girl for two whole weeks.  Kevin and I have talked about it, and we think that Lydia just might start crawling while we're in town.  She really wants to.  When she's after something she gets that butt in the air and gets those legs to movin'.  It's pretty cute.
I am so blessed.  I have an amazing husband who is motivated and wants to provide a good life for his family.  I also have an amazing, adorable and happy baby girl who I kiss about 2,537 times a day (not exaggerating).  I thank God for her everyday and pray that he keeps her safe and healthy.  I know I've mentioned this in earlier blogs, but I am still amazed at how much I love her.  Sometimes when I really get to thinking about it while I watch her play it makes me tear up.  Yes, those of you who think I don't have a soft side, I do.

I mean, come on, who couldn't love a face like this?
