Do you want the good, fun, exciting story first or the horrible, sad story? I'll give you the good one first. Kevin got to deliver his first baby today while on rotation. He's on call today with the doctor he's with and got called out again at 9:30 tonight with 4 women in active labor. So I don't expect him home anytime soon. Oh well, I'm a little jealous. I think it would be so cool to see a birth. Not my own of course. I still can't believe they offer women mirrors while in labor. Who on earth would want to see themselves give birth?? I think it would make me stop pushing and demand a c-section.
Now for the horrible, sad story. No judging, it could happen to anyone. I accidentally locked my keys in the truck today after grocery shopping.........with Lydia in the truck. I said no judging, I know what you're thinking. I can explain. I came out of the store and first things first I put Lydia in the truck because it was cold outside. I then started the truck so it could warm up and put my purse in the passenger seat. I put the groceries up and when I finished I looked around and there weren't any of those buggy parking areas. So I thought to myself, well I guess I have to walk this thing back to the store because I'm not one of those people who just leaves their cart in the middle of the parking lot. So to keep Lydia safe I locked the truck and closed the door. Now remember the truck is running and my purse is in it as well. On my way back to the truck I was digging in my pocket and didn't feel any keys. That's when I started to worry. I asked a stranger if I could borrow his phone and I called Kevin, but he didn't answer. I ran in the store and asked a worker if they could call a pop a lock place. Once she found out there was a baby inside the car she started freaking out. I went back outside and waited by the truck for the police to show up. It felt like eternity, but it was probably 5 min or less. A cop shows up and now we are both standing there waiting for a tow truck. While waiting, another cop car pulls up and 2 cops get out. So now I'm standing there waiting with 3 cops who didn't do a darn thing. I kept wondering why they were even there. They were very understanding and nice. I thought I was going to get a ticket for child endangerment or something. A few minutes later a tow truck shows up and it takes him a total of 10 seconds to pop the lock. Lydia was just chillin inside. She didn't care that she was locked in the car. I didn't even have to pay the guy. Everyone was very nice about it and seemed to understand how I got in that predicament. Remember, no judging.
So all in all Kevin and I have each had a very exciting day. Too much excitement for me though.

Extra, Extra, Read All About It!
It's official, we are coming to Texas next Thursday night. Me, Kevin and Lydia will head out Thursday night (the 3rd) and arrive in East Texas on Friday morning. Kevin will go back on Sunday and Lydia and I will stay for about 2 1/2 weeks. I'm looking forward to visiting with family and friends. But I know Lydia will miss her Daddy and her Daddy will REALLY miss her. This is how Lydia reacted when I told her about the Texas trip coming up around the corner:
She is rolling over a lot more now. The other night I went into her room when she was trying to go to sleep cause she was making a lot of noise. I walk in and she's on her belly staring straight at me. It was really cute. She did it again today at nap time. She's also in the beginning stages of crawling. If you put her on her belly and put something out in front of her she will push her butt up in the air and get up on her tippy toes. She is starting to pull her knees up underneath her a little bit too.
And since they never get any attention I thought I would include some pictures of the doggies.

Maggie loves to sit on Riley for some reason. She's done this for a long time. At first he didn't like it but now he's just come to accept it.

See everyone soon!!

Beautiful Day!
This is the weather I have been waiting for for so long now. I'm afraid it's going to be short lived though, it's only mid February. It didn't warm up last year till April. Our high today is around 67 degrees. Awesome weather. Baby Girl and I took advantage of it and went for a walk and saw the horsies and duckies and geesies. There were quite a few people out today in the park. There is a pretty good size pond in the park and apparently it froze over with all our cold weather. The reason I know this is because while I was walking around the pond I saw hearts and names on the somewhat frozen surface. Apparently people walked out on the pond and did that with their feet. They walked pretty far out too. It was good size letters.
I can't believe it's already mid February. This year is flying by. Which is a good thing. About 4 1/2 more months left in Springfield. :) That makes me happy. Hoping to be back in Texas by Lydia's first birthday.

My Baby Girl
Well folks, I think I'm going to have to buy a poncho. Not for rain, but for Lydia's bath time. She thoroughly enjoys splashing the water with her hands and her feet. And in the process she soaks Mommy. Oh well, it's really cute to watch.
Today was her first Valentine's Day. We celebrated by doing nothing. I'm not big on Valentine's Day. I don't think people should feel pressured to get their significant other flowers or chocolate just because that's what you're "supposed to do".
A few posts ago I talked about how she was making this sound when she breathed that sounded like she was choking. Well, she has stopped doing that and has moved on to breathing as fast as humanly possible. It sounds like she just finished running a 1 mile sprint. She does it when she's excited and she opens her mouth really big so you can see her two bottom teeth.
Another thing she does that is really funny...the other night I read her a book that her Aunt Whitney got her. It has mirrors throughout it and cute little characters. It's a really short book, so when I finished that one I put it down and started reading "Her First Bible". While I read the second book she would look around it and look at her mirror book. It's as if she was saying "hey where did the cool book go?". It's probably a situation where you just had to be there to appreciate the humor. It was really cute.

Pictures!!!!!...not all but some
The past couple days have been in the 50's so all the snow is finally beginning to melt. There's still a lot left to melt though. We actually got outside and went for a walk with baby girl. I think all the snow will be gone by mid week. We might even see 60 degree weather. Yea!!
On our walk today with the melting snow, trying out our new camera.
Eating carrots and then some purple fruit stuff. Carrots are messy!!
You can even make certain colors stand out, example...green!
...and pink!

Cuteness
Last night was Lydia's first time to sit in the bathtub. I normally have her laying in a netted seat type thing, but she's been sitting up really well so I figured it was time for her to graduate up to sitting all by herself. It was adorable. I should have videoed it. She splashed around in that water like it was second nature. She chased her little rubber duckies around and would try to grab them but they would slip right out of her grip. Kevin came in to see the cuteness and Riley was right behind him. So we were all three sitting at the edge of the tub watching Lydia splash in the water. I think Riley wanted to join in on the fun. My baby girl turned 7 months old yesterday. My how time flies. It seems like just yesterday when I was getting up 25 times a night to sooth her back to sleep. Thank the Lord those days are over and now she sleeps like a baby. Pun intended.
Well it's snowing AGAIN! I type that with much distain. You'd think I would enjoy the snow since I've lived in East Texas most of my life, but I'm kinda getting tired of it. Yes it is pretty to look at I know, but when it's already been on the ground since last Monday (multiple inches) you kinda want to see the street and the grass again. Not to mention be able to leave the house. The weather is calling for 50 degree temps this weekend and next week. I'm really looking forward to that. Hoping it melts all the snow away.

The Drive
Would you like to know what's been on my mind a whole lot lately?? Another trip to Texas. Kevin doesn't get any time off till May and I can't wait that long. I especially can't make the grandparents wait that long till they see their adorable granddaughter again. Looks like I'm gunna try to come in March and drive by myself. :( I know I can do it, it's just the fact that I would be driving at night cause I don't want Lydia's schedule to get too messed up. The drive is really not that bad especially when you've done it as much as we have. I don't want to fly cause then I can't pack everything I would like to. So I'm just gunna have to get over it and drive.
One thing I'm looking forward to when I come to Texas (besides the warmer weather) is meeting the newest member of the Johnson family. Little Lauren is so pretty. The Johnson's make beautiful babies.
I've been snowed in since Tuesday! Yep, haven't left the house since Monday, people. We got about a foot of snow. My goal this weekend is to get out of the house. :) Kevin and I did make a pretty impressive snowman or lady the other day. And Kevin made himself a snow cave. It's pretty impressive. I want to make a snowbaby for Lydia as well. I think that would be cute. Put a little passy in it's mouth. Aww that would be even cuter. Well I hear from multiple sources that good 'ol East Texas got some snow too.
Lydia is still doing good. She hasn't gotten sick yet from Noah so I think we're in the clear. She has started making this weird noise sometimes when she breathes. It's almost sounds like she has an airway obstruction or she's wheezing. I know it's just a new sound she discovered she can make so now she wants to do it all the time, but Mommy doesn't like it. It scares me every time I hear it. I think she might be going through a growth spurt cause she's sleeping longer and eats more. We'll see. She'll be 7 months old on Tuesday. CRAZY!!! Everybody told me when she was born that it was going to go by so fast and that she would be 1 before I new it, but I didn't really believe them cause at that point I was so sleep deprived I didn't think it would ever get better. But it did get better and now she's the sweetest little baby girl ever and she's already 7 months old. That really did fly by.
